Melrob in Sunday Times Fast Track 100
Melrob supplies more than 200 chemical raw materials to 500 manufacturers in the polymers, adhesive and oil industries. The West Sussex company was founded in 1995 by Ian Melluish and Marie Roberts to supply the contact-lens and medical-device sectors. Derek Price and Tony Ball bought into the company in 2003 and 2004, respectively, contributing to its expansion into the polymer, oil and acrylic sectors. This new focus has driven growth 179% a year from £312,000 in 2002 to £6.8m in 2005. Melrob has recently opened a Tokyo office to help with expansion.

Industrial Packaging
Francis Ward has appointed Biocel as its agent and distributor of rotomoulded packagings in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. With over 40 years' experience developing and supplying biochemical process aids, additives and chemical formulations to the Irish food, dairy, brewing, cleaning, construction and pharmaceutical industries, Biocel, itself an established Francis Ward customer, is deemed "ideally positioned" to promote the use of the company's products there.
