The Business case for Responsible Care

c. Suppliers and Potential Suppliers

Multi-National companies are the most active in promoting Responsible Care and we are advised by Cefic that the ESAD suppliers Group will move up to 30 or 40 members shortly.

CBA Members who can demonstrate commitment to the RC Programme will make themselves more attractive to potential principals. Some North American producers have made it clear that they will only deal with Responsible Care committed distributors.

d. Appendix F for ESAD II

When this has been revised to meet new regulatory requirements, it will be useful with key downstream industries. Not just food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics but also vetinary and agricultural end uses. This potential has yet to be fully realised but will add further impetus to ESADII.

e. Peace of mind

Commitment to the Responsible Care Programme may be regarded as a sophisticated checklist of all activities that a chemical distributor could and should be doing. Independent 3rd party assessment confirms the procedures are in place and working.

This is peace of mind.
