| Responsible Care Logos |
After satisfactorily completing your first SAQ, Improvement Plan and IoP, we award your company with the right to use the Responsible Care Logo. This is the badge of office that indicates to the outside world that you are a committed and practising Responsible Care Member. In return, we require a signed agreement that commits you to the Programme and the conditions of use of the RC Logo.
CBA members can apply for permission to use the Responsible Care logo once the company has:
- completed and returned the CEO's Letter of Commitment;
- appointed a Responsible Care Co-ordinator who has;
- attended a CBA Workshop - completed and returned a Self-Assessment Questionnaire and three year Improvement Plan and, - completed and returned Indices of Performance for the previous year. The CBA's Responsible Care Committee then considers the application and may grant the use of the logo.
Guidelines for using the logo
Set out below are the guidelines indicating how the logo may be used so that any possible infringement upon other companies with closely associated logos may be avoided.
Principle
- The logo states that the company is a committed member of the Responsible Care Programme
- Chemicals and preparations must not be promoted by the use of the logo
- It is strongly suggested that the logo is placed in a similar way to the logo used for BS EN ISO 9000
- The electronic use of the logo is encouraged and the above principles still apply.
What is allowed
- Use of the logo on letterheads and business cards is encouraged.
- Companies often use their printed letterhead as a vehicle on which to print specifications, price lists, safety data sheets etc. - this is acceptable.
- Literature which is printed to promote the company
- Electronic use of the logo on the Home Page to promote the company
Prohibitions
- Use of the logo on labels, drums, packages, road tankers or other vehicles, advertising media.
- Any inference that a chemical or preparation is enhanced in value because it is part of a Responsible Care Programme.
- Literature which is headed up 'Technical Bulletin' or 'Technical Information' with the logo in a prominent position and the inference can be drawn that the two are linked.
