CBA’s CEO joins TAF board

19 July 2023

The Chemical Business Association (CBA) is delighted to announce that its CEO, Tim Doggett, has been elected to the Trade Association Forum’s (TAF) Board of Directors.

Established in 1997, TAF represents trade associations from across the UK and, as the ‘association of associations’, supports its members by encouraging the development and sharing of best practice and promoting the role of effective trade associations to government, industry and the wider public. TAF’s Board of Directors is elected from its diverse pool of member associations.

The announcement comes at an exciting time for the CBA, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and which has seen membership rise by over 35% to record levels since Doggett’s appointment as CEO two years ago.

Boasting a wealth of global experience in logistics and distribution, Doggett has held several senior positions in national and international companies during his thirty-year career. Prior to joining CBA, he was Managing Director of Clugston Distribution Services Limited. In addition to his new role as TAF Director, Doggett is a Fellow of the Society of Leadership Fellows at St George’s House, Windsor Castle, and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). He is also an ambassador for Generation Logistics and holds several other professional memberships and qualifications.

Commenting on his appointment to the TAF Board, Doggett said: “I am honoured and hugely excited to have been elected to the Trade Association Forum’s Board of Directors. The Forum plays a vital role in promoting the interests of the country’s trade associations, as well as UK industry at large, and I look forward to working with the rest of the Board to support and deliver value to members.”

Gaynor Pates, Chair of TAF and Operations Director of the Railway Industry Association said: “We are delighted to welcome Tim to our Board of Directors. Having witnessed the Chemical Business Association’s transformation since his appointment as CEO, we believe his experience, expertise and enthusiasm will add immense value not only to the Board, but also to our members. We look forward to Tim’s contributions as we continue our work as the association of associations.”

In the coming months, Doggett will work closely with the Board in steering the direction, goals and strategies of the Trade Association Forum.
