How CBA Works

CBA is a membership organisation and it is managed by its members for its members. CBA Council, the Association’s governing body, is elected from member companies. The Executive Committee is drawn from CBA Council and provides ongoing support to the Association’s Chairman.

CBA also operates a series of Committees focusing on technical or operational policy issues. Their membership consists of representatives from member companies with specialist expertise in key policy areas.

The day-to-day operations of CBA are managed by its Director, Peter Newport, and his industry experienced professional team based at Crewe, Cheshire. Operating within a framework created by CBA’s Council, the Secretariat:

  • advocates CBA policies to legislators and regulators in the UK and Europe;
  • communicates the industry’s message in the media;
  • provides information and advice to member companies on compliance issues; and,
  • delivers events, seminars and workshops.
