CBA issues new Load Securing Guidelines

The Chemical Business Association (CBA) has issued new guidelines to help ensure the safe transport of packaged chemicals. The guidelines aim to complement the Department for Transport’s Code of Practice which sets basic standards for load stowage and securing.

The latest Logistics Index released by the Chemical Business Association (CBA) shows that, in 2010, its logistics member companies made more than one million journeys to transport nearly six million tonnes of chemicals. During this period, there were two transport incidents reported.

The latest data on the health, safety and environmental performance of UK chemical distributors released by the Chemical Business Association (CBA), shows that its member companies completed nearly 900,000 separate journeys to distribute 2.9 million tonnes of chemicals in 2010.
CBA Supports International Year of Chemistry

The Chemical Business Association (CBA) today unveiled two of its contributions to the UN-designated International Year of Chemistry, 2011. CBA announced the winner of its first-ever School Award for outstanding achievement in early years’ science teaching and the long running primary school education initiative, Chemistry with Cabbage, received a major boost through a collection made at the CBA Annual Lunch on 4 May at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
