CBA joined with 24 other chemical industry organisations as signatories to a letter to eight key Ministers highlighting the workability and affordability issues with UK REACH and proposing a more effective solution for this central pillar of the UK industry’s new regulatory framework.  It focuses on the key issues with UK REACH: affordability, data sharing, and the likely need for increased levels of animal testing.  It also questions the necessity for the UK to create an identical regime for substances already registered under EU REACH.

LATEST – On 15 February, Ministers elected to defer a decision on the industry’s proposals to the next meeting of the EU Chemicals Group in April 2021.
