DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE AND EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES (DSEAR) (NEW WORKSHOP)
19 May 2020
CBA, Crewe Offices
The workshop provides a basic insight into aspects of DSEAR including:
- Legislative requirements
- Dangerous Substances
- Hazard and Risk
- Hazardous Area Classification
- Basis of Safety
- Equipment selection and inspection requirements
- Safety Management System
The application of the ATEX directive and its UK implementation through DSEAR by companies has been shown to be of variable quality. DSEAR sets minimum requirements for the protection of workers from risks related to dangerous substances.
Dangerous substances are substances used or present at work that could, if not properly controlled, cause harm to people as a result of a fire or explosion. They can be found in nearly all workplaces and include such things as solvents, paints, varnishes, flammable gas, combustible dusts, foodstuffs and pressurised (non-flammable) gases.
This awareness session will cover underpinning knowledge, practical examples and case studies and discuss the implications for your own organisation.
