Young Person Award Winner Named

31 March 2021

The Chemical Business Association (CBA) has named the winner of its annual Young Person Award ANEEB CHAUDHRY, Process Engineer, Brenntag UK.

CBA’s Young Person Award aims to encourage the excellence of young people – under 30 years of age – and recognise their contribution to the chemical distribution sector.

Aneeb Chaudhry holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey. He is currently responsible for the asset management and the delivery of related capital projects across the Brenntag UK network incorporating 13 chemical storage and distribution sites.

He provides engineering support to Brenntag’s upper and lower tier COMAH sites including the creation and management of a computerised maintenance and asset management system for all the company’s storage and distribution sites. This system allows the business to identify and understand the lifecycle of process equipment and develop a strategy for future investment. Aneeb has also made a significant contribution to a number of key safety-related, investment projects.

As part of their prize, Aneeb will be invited to CBA’s next Annual Lunch (Covid restrictions permitting) and be invited to join a CBA Communications Group to promote the industry and its provision of progressive career paths for young people.

CBA Chief Executive, Peter Newport, said, “Aneeb has made a significant contribution to Brenntag in terms of its operational and safety performance and is a very worthy winner of this year’s CBA’s Young Person Award.”
