People & Skills Hub

The People & Skills Hub is a network established by the Chemical Business Association to showcase the chemical supply chain as an industry that offers a wide range of fulfilling career opportunities and make those careers accessible to people of all interests and skillsets.

Through leveraging our extensive partner network, we promote the sector as an employer of choice for individuals seeking a meaningful career and drive initiatives that support career-long workforce development.

A space where our members can collaborate, network and share knowledge, the hub supports businesses in helping their employees to thrive in a constantly evolving industry.

With ED&I at its core, the P&SH focuses on attracting talent from all backgrounds and offers insight into all the pathways available into the chemical supply chain, acknowledging the value of a diverse workforce in innovating the chemical supply chain.

Examples of how the hub can support your business:

  • Specialist training and webinars from industry experts
  • One-to-one careers support, including advice on recruitment strategies and upskilling your workforce
  • Outreach opportunities, highlighting your business to the wider talent pool
  • Insight on how hot industry topics including sustainability and digitalisation can impact your skills strategies
  • Access to our initiatives focussing on the value employees at all stages of their career can contribute to ensuring a sustainable future for the chemical supply chain:

Future Council:

A collaborative group of young chemical supply chain professionals looking to showcase the chemical supply chain as a sector that can provide a fulfilling and meaningful career through performing outreach with educational institutions.

The network of young people meets bimonthly to share their knowledge and experiences with each other and look at how they can develop their outreach strategy.

Being a part of this platform allows CBA members to provide their young employees with fantastic opportunities for professional and personal development and also contributes to an innovative chemical supply chain.

Generation STEAM:

Generation STEAM looks to highlight the inclusivity and diversity of the chemical supply chain by showcasing the vast range of different roles available within the sector.

STEAM is much more than just incorporating the arts into STEAM, it emphasises the need for ambitious and creative individuals within the chemical supply chain and the fresh perspectives they provide.

STEAM moves past the thinking that learning areas are separate, widening the net to ensure we capture a bigger talent pool and have a sustainable workforce for the future.

We currently have 50 and counting Generation STEAM ambassadors, who share their experiences through outreach with young people.

5050Vision

5050 vision highlights the value of workers over 50 to the chemical supply chain, promoting an age-inclusive workplace that showcases the benefits of actively engaging with experienced employees.

Our vision is to recognise, harness, and celebrate the invaluable wealth of experience that seasoned professionals over the age of 50 bring to our workforce. We firmly believe that retaining and empowering these skilled individuals is not only a testament to our commitment to diversity and inclusivity but also a strategic advantage for our industry.

Through offering advice and support, we advocate for older employees to have adequate support in the workplace, from opportunities to gain stackable skills through training, to having access to adequate health support.
