Pool Chemicals Forum
Pool Chemicals Forum (PCF)
The Chemical Business Association serves as the secretariat for the Pool Chemicals Forum (PCF), a forum dedicated to the management of chemical handling in industries concerning pools, spas, hot-tubs and any other sectors using chemically treated recreational water. The scope of the forum includes both domestic and commercial facilities.
Core Forum Objectives
- To ensure that all chemical incidents are encouraged to be reported
- To ensure that information gained can be reported on and shared within the network, to minimise the chances of these incidents happening again
- To work collaboratively on key safety messages for the industry to share appropriate corrective actions for incidents and best practices for chemical handling and management
- To identify trends in chemical-related incidents and recommend preventative measures
- To engage with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to promote best practices in the safe use and handling of chemicals
Pool Chemical Incident Register
The Pool Chemical Forum (PCF) is developing a Pool Chemical Incident Register to collect and analyse data on chemical-related incidents, identify trends, and share key insights across the industry. This register will provide a standardised approach to reporting, helping to improve understanding and practices for chemical safety. Summaries and lessons learned will be shared to support the reduction of accidents and promote safer handling methods. All information will be managed with strict confidentiality, ensuring sensitive details are protected. By sharing findings and encouraging best practices, the register aims to enhance safety standards throughout leisure facilities in the United Kingdom.
