Cornelius, independent European distributor of high quality and innovative raw materials, has joined the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA).
Cornelius has become one of the latest companies to commit to ESSNA’s core values of the highest safety standards and upholding EU regulations on the content and labelling of sports nutrition products.
ESSNA is the voice of the sports nutrition industry in dialogue with regulators and policy makers and it campaigns in favour of proportionate EU legislation that does not adversely affect the industry. ESSNA also acts as “police” to the industry by monitoring and reporting irresponsible companies that flout EU law and put consumers at potential risk from dangerous products.
The boost to ESSNA’s membership follows its first global conference, which took place in Brussels in September. The conference centered on discussions around the future of the sports nutrition industry at a crucial time for the sector and saw a range of speakers from the EU Commission, UK Anti-Doping and UNESDA, among others.
Technical Business Manager at Cornelius, Joy Thomas, says: “We are very excited about joining ESSNA as the Sports Nutrition market is one of the key areas of focus for Cornelius. In addition to our stringent quality and audit procedures, regulatory compliance is a top priority for us. Membership is key to our aims and we look forward to working closely with ESSNA and other members.”
