It had been announced earlier this week that the Ciner Group, our principle for the Soda Ash supplies, will acquire a majority controlling interest in OCI.
OCI is the 2nd largest producer of natural soda ash from Trona in the United States, with a capacity of 3.5 million short tons.

This will increase total capacity of Soda Ash production to 7.5 million tons by 2018, this will include the planned expansion of the existing facility in Beypazari (Turkey) and the new facility based in Kazan (Turkey).

Newport will further strengthen its supply chains in the UK over the next 12 months to incorporate further growth. “
