The regulation concerning the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP Regulation) (EC Regulation 1272/2008) was amended on 22 March 2017 when EU Commission Regulation 2017/542 was published. This long-anticipated piece of legislation added a new Annex (Annex VIII) to CLP on harmonised information relating to the provision of information for emergency health response, otherwise known as poison centres. There have since been two amendments to this regulation.
The regulation introduces the requirement to print a Unique Formula Identifier (UFI) on mixture labels. Importers and downstream users placing hazardous mixtures on the market, and distributors who modify the label or packaging for hazardous mixtures, will need to notify the ingredients in those mixtures classified as hazardous for physical effects and/or health effects.
The deadline for industrial use mixtures is the 1st January 2024.
Whilst there is no obligation for GB based companies to make poison centre notifications, if you sell into the EU market you may wish to support your customers. We will cover the ways that GB companies can meet the requirements support their customers.
This training will cover the basics of the regulation and will include a practical session, where you will learn how to use the ECHA notification portal and how to create and submit a poison centre notification.
For the practical session you would benefit from bringing your laptop and REACH-IT login details so you can work through a notification at the same time.
This Training Will Cover:
- What needs to be notified
- The Deadlines
