The Chemical Business Association (CBA) has elected a new Chair – Kate Mingay, Managing Director, Dakram Materials Limited. She was elected by the membership of the Association at its Annual General Meeting on 28 April 2021. Richard Gilkes, Managing Director, Stort Chemicals Limited, was elected Vice-Chair.

Community Award Winner Announced

The Chemical Business Association (CBA) has announced the winner of its Community Interaction Award – Den Hartogh Logistics.
This annual award recognises excellence by CBA member companies in relation to their engagement with the communities in which they operate. Community involvement is an essential part of CBA’s Responsible Care programme - an industry initiative promoting year-on-year improvements in health, safety, security and environmental management.

Young Person Award Winner Named

The Chemical Business Association (CBA) has named the winner of its annual Young Person Award – ANEEB CHAUDHRY, Process Engineer, Brenntag UK. CBA’s Young Person Award aims to encourage the excellence of young people – under 30
years of age - and recognise their contribution to the chemical distribution sector.
Aneeb Chaudhry holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey. He is currently responsible for the asset management and the delivery of related capital projects across the Brenntag UK network incorporating 13 chemical storage and distribution sites.

Industry Calls For Changes to UK REACH

Order Books and Sales Bounce Back (Supply Chain Survey – October 2020)

Order books and sales have bounced back since the last Supply Chain Trends Survey by the Chemical Business Association (CBA) in June 2020 and are now showing a positive survey-to-survey swing of more than 50%. Future sales margins, on the other hand, are forecast to fall by more than 25% over the next three months.
